Her moody impressionist compositions are distinguished by brilliant color, rhythmic shapes, texture and a gestural manner of media application. She received her bachelor’s degree from Southwest Missouri State University with a major in art and did graduate work in education at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. She has taught art in schools at all levels including 14 years at Olympic College in Bremerton, WA. She has also taught studio painting at the Northwest College of Art and many private workshops including ones in Europe.
Donna is a signature member and past president of the Northwest Pastel Society; a member of the Oil Painter’s of America, Pastel Society of the West Coast, Pastel Society of America, and several local art organizations. Her work has been collected by the Oregon State University and by the Pierce County Arts for their permanent collections. She has been published in This Bountiful Place, Art About Agriculture, a 243 page publication by OSU. Her colorful impressionist paintings have been juried into many local, national and international exhibits. She has taught private classes for 16 years, taught 4 years in the Gig Harbor Public Schools, and taught local, regional and European workshops..
